2009 Church School Picnic
The ‘last’ Church School meeting for the term was held at the Tmn Jubli Perak in the form of a picnic. About 40+ kids showed up. Some of their parents hung around too.
The MYFers were around to help out with the picnic. At 9.30 a.m. Meow Nee started the picnic with a word of prayer. This was followed by a time singing. Some of the young adults who were back also came to lend a helping hand.
Dr. Tong then took over with a time of dancing. The Chicken Dance and The Baby Elephant Walk. Our doc really has a talent for this. Kids, teachers, young people all joined in the fun.
Dance session was followed by a time of games. The kids were divided into different groups and each group had a few MYFers to assist. They even had a mini treasure hunt for marbles, one sen coins and some other treasures.
After that was makan. Everyone tucked in the food that was prepared. There was more than enough for everyone. Though the turnout was lower than the usual, it was still a good outing nevertheless. It’s good to be out in the fresh morning air. God was very good too. We had a whole morning of cloudy and shady morning, perfect for a picnic; that despite the fact that the weather has been rather unpredictable the last few days.
Indeed God is good all the time. Last Friday the school bus driver asked what if it rains on this Friday? Daisy was speechless for a moment by this sudden question but then by faith she said, ‘No it won’t rain. We’ll pray to God and God will not let it rain on that day.’ True enough yesterday there was no rain at all instead we had ‘a whole morning of cloudy and shady morning, perfect for a picnic; that despite the fact that the weather has been rather unpredictable the last few days.’ Hallelujah praise be to God for His faithfulness!
Not only the children, teachers and helpers experienced the goodness of God in giving us good weather; the parents and other people (Bas Sekolah drivers etc) saw that God answers prayers of His people. I remember it rained on Wed, Thu, Sat, Sun morning but on Friday morning it was perfect.
Praise the Lord.
