MYF Christmas Party 2009

This year, the MYF Christmas party was definitely one to be remembered. It was an evangelical event and we saw God’s grace and faithfulness in action as an astounding number of youth came to join us as we celebrated Christmas. An estimated 160 youths turned up, exceeding the targeted 150!

The party started with a meaningful time of worship led by Timothy and his team. They ushered in a spirit of joy as we sang some worship songs and Christmas carols. After worship, a group of MYFers presented a short skit which truly got us youth thinking, “How then do we find true love?”. Aunty Chiam took over and shared a very relevant and meaningful message with us how God’s love is far greater than any pen can record. She also assured us that God loves us for who we are. In return, we need to trust Him completely, knowing that our future, no matter how blur and bleak it may seem, is secure in His hands.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Later on, we had dinner upstairs. Old friends caught up with each other and new friends were made over dinner. A group of youth, under the guidance and training of Aunty Peh Lan, also presented a tambourine dance.

This was followed by a game session which sent the whole room into constant fits of laughter!

The event ended with another short session of singing and invitation to come to our MYF meeting every Friday. All in all, it was a wonderful time of celebration and evangelism. Kudos to the organizing committee for a job well done!

Everyone looks so happy! That in itself is a good testimony!

All the long hours of practising and sessions of ardent prayers really paid off. God honoured the desires of the MYFers’ hearts – to share Cristmas joy with hteir friends. Well done!!!
